sock creatures and ceramic creatures
Tue Mar 11, 2008, 5:36 AM
so, i haven't been in the studio for a while. hence, nothing new to post. actually, i may have skipped some pieces and forgotten to post them. i shall look into that at some point in the near future.
but! i got my hands on a copy of 'stupid sock creatures' and some toe socks. i believe the experimenting may commence soon. i think i might also sacrifice some old t-shirts of mine to more creative endeavors. the poor things are sitting limply in a box. im sure they'd be happier all sewn up into fantabulous critters. ^__^ .. or something.
i really miss having university studios accessible 24/7...
finally got my pieces fired and finished! took long enough. i need to retake some photos, though. they are all blurry and out of focus.
mmm.. i eventually need to post photos of my ocarinas. this first batch of whistley things came out okay, but the more i make the better they sound. i also bought a tuner to try to get them in tune with themselves so music can be played on them.
unfortunately, it will be yet another while before more new ceramics appears. i'm going on vacation soon and i need to find a new studio to work in when i get back. assuming i can find one that charges reasonable rates.
anyways. i've brought some clay home to work with. i've found it surprisingly difficult to find time and space to work here, though. which is a bummer. i keep wanting to make stuff and use up the last bit of clay i have here, but it just hasn't worked sofar. boo on that.
anywho. posted pix of my newest works. they're all sitting in our glass display case because it's the only place the cats can't knock them over. the pix are really crappy, though. i'll move them over to scraps when the pieces are finished. hopefully they'll survive transport to the studio. wish me luck with that!
